My name is Maria Callahan. I am an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Clinical Exercise Specialist.
I train individuals of all physical capabilities. As a Clinical Exercise Specialist, I specialize in creating custom exercise programs for people with health challenges. I am available for a free consultation, and you are welcome to come visit my private studio, located near 52nd and S.E. Woodstock. I am also available to train you outdoors, in your home, other exercise facility, or via E-Coaching.
I can help you improve your muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and nutrition.

I keep it simple and educational, and I train in a relaxed, comfortable studio with a minimum of mirrors, and bright lights. My emphasis is always on the use of proper form, and correct ergonomics.
For MUSCULAR STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE training, I utilize:
- Free weights
- Resistance Bands
- Universal weight-stack equipment
- Body weight exercises
- Playground equipment
- Bosu and Wobble Board trainers
For CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH training, I utilize:
- Stair Stepper, Rower, and Life Cycle cardio machines
- Circuit, Interval and Fartlek Training principals
For improvements in flexibility, I can instruct you in proper stretching techniques. I am also trained in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, an assisted-stretching technique, (similar to Thai massage) known to be very effective in improving range of motion.
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING
I myself lost a significant amount of weight and regained my health with the help of a personal trainer. I understand the daily dietary and exercise challenges that many people face. In my experience, nearly everyone has room for improvement when it comes to nutrition. I do not endorse any supplements or vitamins for weight loss and weight loss will only be a goal if that is what you want. I can help you “clean up” your diet, through natural and organic means.
